Currency conversion

A 2.5% fee* for currency conversion is automatically built into your product prices to offset the cost to you (this is only automatic with default pricing and does not apply for fixed cost price lists). While this fee is passed to customers, it provides an improved experience where customers have full price transparency at checkout instead of incurring credit card charges for currency exchange. A 2.5% fee for currency conversion will appear on your payout statement.

Shopify's international core features cost nothing to activate. Fees for international sales will only apply on orders where payment processing, duties and import taxes, or currency conversion are used.

Local payment processing

Fees for using local payment methods are included as part of Shopify Payments international payment processing—so on Shopify Payments, you pay nothing additional for international orders. The average blended rate for payments when selling internationally is 3.9% + $0.30.

Duties and import taxes calculator

The transaction fee is 0.85% for merchants using Shopify Payments, and 1.5% for those who are not using Shopify Payments. Effective Feb 2, 2025 Duties pricing has been temporarily lowered to 0.5%.
